Last year, POP put on their 1st annual "POP Walk". Tim & I asked everyone we know to come out and show their support. We asked people to wear yellow shirts to show that they were there to support Tim. Brittany even had special shirts made for the family and a few friends that had Tim's picture on them and displayed our team's name, "Bustin' Perps, Fighting Cancer". An apt name that came about one day when Tim's boss asked him what he was up to one day. Of course he said, "Just bustin' perps and fighting cancer!"
This year the POP Walk is being held on Saturday September 25th. Tim mentioned to me early on that he wanted to have a bigger team than last year - an even more prominent sea of yellow shirts. We have talked about it and we realize that there is less apparent urgency this year - Tim's cancer is controlled, he has completed the prescribed chemo and radiation, he looks and feels healthy for the most part. The truth is, he still wants to know that people are behind him. He enjoys seeing the evidence that his voice is heard and that his friends and family are behind him in this battle and in spreading the message of early detection.
In the last year, Tim has been asked to speak to different groups with growing frequency. His amazing outlook on life, his optimistic attitude and his passion for promoting early detection and saving as many lives as possible are inspiring. Come be a part of the "movement".
